Job Title: Generator Engineer
Reports to: Depot Manager / Operations Manager
Duration: Full time, permanent
Salary: Competitive based on the individual + VAN + Mobile Phone + Pension

About the role
Your main role will be carrying out preventative maintenance, repairs and servicing on our generator fleet and attending to servicing and emergency breakdowns nationwide. Your day to day role will include preparing generators for hire and fulfilling customer orders. You will be enrolled in an on call rota, which will see you being the on call engineer every 3 weeks, depending on sickness, holidays etc.
Your typical working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm. Saturday 8am- 12pm, with the potential to work overtime.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining high standards of rental equipment
- Carrying out repairs, fault findings and cleaning of equipment
- Picking of equipment and testing to fulfil customer orders
- Stock checking
- Checking in stock and fuel levels after hire
- Site visits and servicing nationwide.
You will need to be technically minded and have a good understanding about the generator rental industry. You should have a natural ability to communicate clearly with colleagues to be able to build up and maintain working relationships. You should be willing to work within a team and have good interpersonal skills.
Your personal attributes should include self motivated, disciplined, approachable and committed to your job duties. You will need a full driving license and live within a 25mile radius of Chelmsford, Essex.
Previous Experience and qualifications will include:
- Experience in the generator / mechanical industry
- Rebuilding Engines
- Working with DC + AC Electrical Circuits
- Experience in 230v/400v
- Proven experience in working within a team
- Previous experience within a similar role
- Driving license
