Following the success of winning the contract to supply temporary power for The London Borough of Newham’s Events 2013 Templant were looking forward to The Mayor’s Newham Show and Carnival in East Ham’s Central Park.
The Templant Power Team started delivering their 20 generators ranging from 20Kva up to 100Kva and 10 fuel tanks the week before the Show to ensure they were ready and set up in place for the commencement of the Show on 13th and 14th July.
THE SHOW: A staggering 50,000 people enjoyed a glorious weekend of free family fun, sizzling sunshine and huge crowds were a warm welcome to the start of the weekend’s entertainment.
The colourful carnival procession around the streets of East Ham kicked off proceedings on Saturday, children and performers wore a host of colourful costumes and props that were used in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
The two days had something for everyone including a beach and donkey rides, a village fete, live music and cabaret, sports, food from around the world and a children’s area. Music in the cabaret tent included tribute acts, Bands, Solo Singers and the Newham Brass Band.
Sunday’s programme hosted the Time to Shine talent quest final and appearances by BBC TV sensations the Zingzillas and popular BBC Children’s TV presenters.
Mayor Sir Robin Wales said “This weekend’s show showed Newham at its best. Our community came together as one to enjoy the superb entertainment. And the brilliant hot weather topped the lotâ€.
