Templant were contacted by an Integrated Marketing Agency requiring temporary power for promotional activities for the film Grand Budapest Hotel. Due out for public release this week this film stars Ralph Fiennes as a concierge who teams up with one of his employees to prove his innocence after he’s framed for murder.
The venue; The Farmiloe Building is one of Clerkenwell’s famous landmarks. Once home to George Farmiloe & Sons merchants and central to London’s heritage of trade and commerce. It is one of the finest examples of Victorian architecture, completed in 1868. Templant were extremely keen to provide temporary power to this magnificent building.
As part of the promotions for the film the general public, critics & industry bodies are invited to stay at the legendary Grand Budapest Hotel in a secret location in Central London ….The Farmiloe Building! This involves a screening of the highly anticipated film before public release. In addition to the screening, the multitude of rooms in the Building replicate dramatic scenes from the film.
At the end of February Templant Engineers delivered the temporary power hire requirements to site. Liaising with crew they then set up and installed 2 x 165kVA generators synchronised together and connected to a large multi distribution board with the necessary cabling. The temporary generators are providing the required power for heating and projectors for the six week duration of the secret screenings.
