As an approved supplier for a leading Facilities Management company Templant welcomed the opportunity to provide temporary power for a scheduled power shut down to Park Street in Mayfair, London.
Templant worked closely with the client to advise and plan the necessary power requirements and installation procedures for the shut down to the busy office premises. Templant were requested to ensure disturbance to local residents and office workers was kept to a minimum and to guarantee there would be no loss of power throughout the project. It was imperative that the Stock Trading Company within the office incurred no loss of power, productivity and income.
During the initial site survey the client set out further detailed criteria and in addition the above Templant were asked to provide a method statement, risk assessment and lifting plan. Templant also delivered a temporary power system diagram and in order to meet the noise requirements one of their super silent generators, measured at 65 DBA @ 1meter, was selected as they knew it would be ideal for the project.
As soon as Templant’s logistical team and engineers arrived onsite their first task was to instigate a road closure, as agreed with Westminster Council, in the busy London Street to position the generator. Once achieved Templant then maneuvered the super silent 200Kva generator carefully into place. Once safely in the required location Templant commissioned their automatic change over panel to run in parallel with the building’s mains supply and the standby generator. On completion the entire temporary power system was inspected, tested and certificates produced.
The project proved very successful meeting all criteria requested by the client as well as resulting in a smooth and seamless changeover of power for the essential works to be carried out without interruption to The Stock Trading Company and local residents.
