Paddle Power for Charity Beach & Watersport Festival

Dave “Sandals” Samuel, Founder and Director of the World’s biggest beach & watersport charity festival  “Paddle Round the Pier”, approached Templant in early 2013 in the hope they would be interested in becoming part of the Paddle team and sponsor the two day event in July by providing the complete power package required for the event to go ahead.

The entire Paddle event is run, promoted and maintained by a crew of unpaid volunteers and could not go ahead without the generous support of sponsors.

Dave had already had a knock back from another generator hire Company but Templant were delighted to get involved as sponsors for such a worthy cause.  This fantastic free event had, in previous years, raised over £150,000 for charity and simply could not go ahead without the provision of a temporary power source.

Templant generously donated, delivered and set up six generators, electrical distribution boards and cabling to provide temporary power to several live music stages, the Paddle Village, The World Food Court, stall holders selling their wares and all the events going on out at sea as well as demonstrations on the front with trick BMX’s and then some!

Paddle is an unbelievable free two day event for all the family, there seriously is something for everyone.  It has rapidly grown over the years gaining international recognition as one of the hippest fund-raising events there is and has become Europe’s biggest beach and watersport festival with entrants coming from as far afield as Belgium, France, Brazil and Hawaii!

A fabulous weekend of truly remarkable people giving up their free time to help and participate so being a part of the paddle team was incredibly rewarding and to receive such praise was a real bonus!

“Where do I start when words of thanks can never be enough to equate for the investment you made to help Paddle Round The Pier the success story it was (especially this year!). We all know that Paddle is a team effort but your assistance and enthusiasm played such a vital role for us that without you, we certainly would have struggled.

Thank you so much for giving up so much time, and being part of the Paddle team.  Everyone commented (including the council) on how good the power supplier was.
Thanks again for being a part of Paddle 2013 and I hope we can count on you again for the future!”

Dave, Paddle Director
