Canary Wharf hosted the 2014 London Ice Sculpting Festival from 10th to 12th January. The three-day event was spread across Wood Wharf, Montgomery Square and Canary Wharf Shopping Malls. Being an outdoor event with spectacular art being created with chainsaws and chisels it was imperative that the 10 teams could see whilst creating their masterpieces throughout the entire day.
The Ice Box, organisers of the Festival, contacted Templant for the provision of temporary lighting and of course they were only too happy to get involved. Templant liaised with the Events Team at Canary Wharf to discuss their exact requirements and delivery.
Four lighting towers were delivered by Templant in the early hours of 9th and positioned in the agreed locations. The event proved a huge success with over 3,000 spectators taking part in the ice sculpting master classes and the Festival witnessed in excess of 55,000 visitors.
Philip Hughes, creative director and founder of The Ice Box, organisers of LISF, said: “The London Ice Sculpting Festival was another great success. We overcame challenges of sunshine and attendance exceeded all expectations. Visitors from far and wide highly praised the event for its fantastic festival atmosphere and we have received great feedback on social media.”
The Winning British Duo of the Peoples Choice Award. Congrats!
